Invisalign® Corinth, TX
Do you need Invisalign? You have come to the right place. Here, at Loretto Family Dentistry, we have qualified orthodontists who specialize in Invisalign treatment. Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment used for teeth alignment. It is an alternative to traditional metal braces. Invisalign is a clear plastic aligner for your teeth. It aligns teeth by shifting them to a proper position.
Invisalign treatment works as great as the traditional metal braces without the aesthetic disadvantages that come with wearing braces. The aligners used in Invisalign treatment are made of transparent plastic material. Specialists custom-make these aligners to fit perfectly on your teeth. The point is, no one will notice you have braces on your teeth.
Another convenience that comes with Invisalign treatment is removability. You can easily remove the aligners when eating, drinking, and brushing teeth. Removing braces is not an option until the treatment is over. The metal brackets, unfortunately, trap food particles which deteriorates mouth hygiene.
Is Invisalign right for you?
Yes. Because Invisalign is an invisible method to improve your smile. Invisalign treatment works for most cases of teeth misalignment. Such cases include overbite, underbite, crossbite, open bite, and crowded teeth. In simpler terms, Invisalign is for anyone who wants straighter teeth. It is particularly an attractive treatment option if the thought of having metal brackets covering your teeth for several years is not a welcome idea. Invisalign is the preferred teeth straightening treatment for adults and teens. We do not recommend it in kids since most still have teeth that need to grow in.
The process of Invisalign treatment
The process of Invisalign treatment starts with a consultation with one of our orthodontists. The first step during your first visit is determining if you are a good candidate for Invisalign. Most teens and adults qualify for this treatment. The next step is analyzing your smile and bite. We achieve that by taking photos and x-ray images of your teeth and face. We use these images to create 3D impressions of your mouth and teeth. With these impressions, we can map out a treatment plan for how we will transform your smile.
The next step is making the aligners. We send all your records and our treatment plan to an Invisalign lab. The lab sends us the aligners after about two to three weeks, after which we schedule a fitting appointment. During this second appointment, we fit the first set of aligners and make any necessary adjustments.
Follow up includes a visit every two weeks to change to the next set of aligners until the treatment is complete. Note that you will have to wear the aligners all day; approximately 22 hours a day. You only remove them when eating, drinking, or brushing your teeth.
After the treatment plan is over, we have to evaluate the success of the treatment. If we are content with the results, we give you retainers, which you will have to wear all day. The aligners move your teeth, which makes them a little loose. The purpose of the retainers is to stabilize the teeth, a process that takes a few weeks. Once we are sure your teeth are stable, you will only have to wear a retainer when you sleep.
